The first official day of spring may still be 3 weeks away, but the first day of March marks the end of winter in my mind. Never mind that my dad always says it is the snowiest month. I refuse to believe him!
Of course the first thing I did this morning was turn the calendar page. The red and white scrolls and hearts were fine for February, but I’m ready for green and yellow!

When I lived in Iowa I thought March was the beginning of spring too. Then I moved north and spent three angry Marches when spring never showed up until mid-April. This year I declare the mourning done and am anxious for the snow to stick around so nothing green pokes it head up too soon! Enjoy Iowa where the peonies sometimes bloom in April!
Peonies in April, oh my! We have a small bush in our front yard, that I can’t wait to see come to life. I’ll wait ’til May if I have to!
