And baby makes 3

It's hard to believe that we've already been home with Emerson for 2 weeks!

I'm still kind of amazed at how quickly our lives have changed. Our worlds revolve around this little man now. Our days are a blur of breast feeding, changing, napping, and visitors. I started this post a week ago and have thought about finishing it every day, but most nights by the time Emerson is sleeping I either take a shower or go to bed.
Look at that sweet, cuddly little guy! He has his moments when he screams, but I wouldn't trade them for anything!

I won't go into all the gorry details of the birth, but I'll share the highlights.

It was long and hard–to the tune of 21 hours. There's a reason they call it labor! The good thing is, we weren't in the hospital for that long. Our midwives encouraged us to labor at home for as long as possible, so we did that for about 15 hours before heading to the hospital.

Adam and I knew that we wanted to have a natural childbirth if possible and I'll be honest, there were times when I was ready to throw in the towel and ask for the drugs! In the end, I had a little fentanyl, but didn't have to have an epidural. I couldn't have done it without Adam. He was by my side every moment, encouraging me and coaching me through it.

In our Bradley Class, the teacher always said, "The love that created this baby will bring it out." That is so true! After Emerson was in our arms, Adam said that he thought we were close before, but now that we've created this life together our bond is stronger than ever!

I wish I had the energy to share more about the last few weeks, but the pillow is calling my name!

Hopefully we'll be back with more design posts soon! The welcome home chalkboard is a super easy project that I actually did while I was laboring! I can't wait to share the secret to it! And it isn't chalkboard paint. Now you're curious, aren't you?

What a cutie! What a sweet blessing, enjoy each day and moment, don't rush for the next. That was the best advice I was given about my babies  I found you through 31 days, been enjoying your blog since then.

Thanks for the tip! There are moments when I wonder when I’ll ever get out of the house, but then I look at Emerson’s sweet face and remember how truly blessed we are.
