Tips & Tricks: Layering Crib Sheets

by Andrea Cooley

I have two tips to share that will make your life so much easier!

Does anyone else think it's impossible to put crib sheets on?! When we first set up the crib I was excited to get the sheets on, but spent at least 20 minutes trying to manuever my pregnant belly around the crib and wrangle the mattress pad and sheets on.

Then I had an epiphany. Why was I wrestling with the mattress that was in a box when I could easily take the mattress out? Does anyone else do this?DSC_0604My second tip is to layer crib sheets. Someone told me this when I was pregnant and I knew I had to try it.

We registered for three crib sheets and three mattress pads, knowing that when one gets wet in the middle of the night we would need back up! But who wants to hassle with putting on new sheets in the middle of the night? Not me!

The solution is to make up the mattress multiple times. It might sound silly, but trust me, when the baby wets through his diaper or spits up at 3 a.m., you'll thank me!DSC_0605Again, it's so much easier, to put the sheets on when the mattress is on the floor! Here I have a mattress pad and sheet on, then another mattress pad, followed by a sheet. Repeat as needed!DSC_0606
What tricks do you have to make life easier? As a new mom, I'm looking for all the help I can get!
