{31 Days of Capturing the Spark Day 28} 5 Secrets of a Newlywed

by laura.johnson

As we start to wind down our 31 Day Challenge (who else is ready for us to get back to post about decorating!? We can’t wait!), we wanted to share insight from a fabulous blog we recently discovered Life Blessons. Carmen seems to read our minds and hearts when it comes to topics of marriage and love and we had to let you in on some of her “newlywed secrets.” Even if you aren’t a newlywed, they’re worth a read, because really, does anyone have this whole marriage thing figured out?

So, without further ado, I’ll turn things over to Carmen!

1. Opposites attract! And that’s not always a bad thing as long as you learn to embrace your differences.

2. I could definitely use a daily reminder of these Two Simple Truths : “Life is not about you” and “Stop getting mad about the small stuff”

3. Adam insists that I carry a granola bar and bottle of water with me when we run errands, because he knows how crabby I can get when I’m hungry (or thirsty). It sounds like Carmen is the same way!

4. All month we’ve been talking about ways to invest in your marriage and make it the best possible relationship. The first step is making it a priority!

5. We’ve talked a little about encouraging our husbands and praying for them this month, but it’s still easy to forget how powerful our words are!

What are your secrets to married bliss? We’d love to hear them!
