31 Days

by Andrea Cooley

Last year, we joined The Nester and hundreds of other bloggers and wrote about Capturing the Spark in marriage for the whole month of October. Anyone remember these posts? If you want a refresher, you can find them all here. Laura and I were talking about how it seems like a lifetime ago we did this (before either of us were pregnant and when we'd been blogging for less than a year)!

Our goal is to do it again this year–yes, even though Laura now has a 6 month old and I'm due to have our first baby the end of October. We realize we might be crazy and maybe we won't make it through the first week, but it's worth a try!

I figure it will be a good distraction for me if I don't have the baby early (wishful thinking) and we're always up for a challenge. BUT we have agreed, that if we don't post every day it's not the end of the world and hopefully you won't hold it against us! I'll be honest. The Type A in me cringes at the thought of not completing a task 100% but the emotional, 9-month pregnant part of me is learning to give myself grace and be OK if I don't get everything checked off my list.

We're excited to share some of our favorite decorating tips, painting tricks, marriage and parenting tips, and lots more! We'll also revisit some of our favorite projects from the last 2 years (can you believe we've been doing this almost 2 years!?)

We hope you'll join us during the month of October! If you want a sneak peak at some of our ideas for the month, check out our Tips & Tricks board on Pinterest. And if you have any great tips to make life easier, let us know!

Anyone else joining the 31 day challenge? Get more details from The Nester. She also has great templates for making a 31 day icon.

If you're intimidated by the idea for posting 31 days in a row, we were too! But whether you've been blogging for years or are just getting started, it's a great exercise in just sitting down and getting a post done. How many times to I over think a post and then never end up sharing it with the world. This forces you to just write! I also think it helps to focus on a single topic. OK, that's my plug for the challenge! Hope you'll join us!
