Spring! ForsythiaEvery day our yard gets greener and greener and more things start blooming! Spring just might be the most wonderful time of the year.

We’re heading to St. Louis this weekend to hang out with my brother and his family. We found a house on AirBnB to stay in–totally the way to go when traveling with kids. I can’t wait to take the boys to the zoo. Traveling with kids is never relaxing, but I’m looking forward to a change of pace. I’m trying to keep my expectations in check so we can enjoy the trip, even when it’s a little crazy.

Here are some of my favorite links from the week:

This entire kitchen is gorgeous, but the floors are my favorite!

The difference between being nice and being kind

I know it’s spring when I start to see ants under the kitchen table. I’m trying this natural solution (#3) to get rid of them. Wish me luck!

I started crocheting this blanket for the baby. Hopefully I finish it before she goes to kindergarten!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello! I’m not sure if anyone is still out there, it’s been so long since I’ve shared anything here, but I decided I couldn’t stay away forever!

Here’s a quick rundown of what life has been like over the last 5 months (has it really been that long!?)

We moved in October. And after going through my pictures, I realized I don’t have a good photo of the outside of the house. I’ll try to get one! We just moved across town, but anyone who has moved knows how much work it is! We’ve been unpacked for a long time, but we are finally starting to get more things hung on the walls. It’s amazing how much little things like that make it feel like home!

Emerson turned 3 and we went on a week-long “famcation”to Florida. It was much needed time away after the move.

We went to Cedar Rapids for Thanksgiving and Christmas and had a great time with our families. It’s especially fun to see the boys playing with their cousins!

3 Things I'm Learning From My ToddlerI started blogging for Des Moines Mom’s Blog! I’m loving this community of moms and writers and also the accountability to at least write one post a month! Here’s my latest post about what I’m learning as a mom.

pregnancy announcementWe found out we’re pregnant! I’m due July 31. There will be a short period where we have 3 kids ages 3 and under. Pray for us! Now that I’m out of the 1st trimester (January was a rough month!) we are excited to grow our little family. Next week we find out if we’re having a boy or a girl!

IfLocalI went to If:Local for the third year. As always, it was an encouraging, challenging, and inspiring weekend. Leave it to Jennie Allen and her team to preach it!

I’ve also been reading some really good books lately, but I feel like I need a separate post for that!
