Whenever we celebrate a birthday or anniversary, I love looking back on the year and reminiscing about the highs and lows. I’m sure we will do that over dinner or dessert. I think one of my favorite parts of this year has been growing into our roles as parents together. We have so much fun with Emerson and are excited to add another boy to the mix! Another “high” was getting away without Emerson for a long weekend to Las Vegas, which was amazing!
Every year, we give each other traditional anniversary gifts. The last few years, we have done a joint gift, meaning we get one thing for both of us. The gift for 9 years is pottery. We’re going to check out a couple stores in Des Moines to see if we can find something cool that’s made locally. I’ll let you know what we find!
Here are some other ideas for special pottery anniversary gifts:
Sources clockwise from top left:
Custom house plaque | Palomas Nest
Stoneware ceramic cups | Herriott Grace
Pure White Ceramic Vases | West Elm
Ceramic soup bowls | Novica
Personalized growler | Red Envelope
Nesting Lotus bowls | Uncommon Goods
Large leaf platter | Etsy
House numbers | Heath Ceramics
Another fun idea would be to take a pottery class and each make something.
Year 10 the gift is diamonds! I think I’m going to request individual gifts for that one!
Here’s how we’ve celebrated in the past:
