Day 22 Tips and Tricks: Paint Pointers

We all know paint is one of the best ways to transform a room. Sure, it takes a little time, but the results are always so satisfying! I have a list of paint projects on my list for after the baby's born. We have a little rocking chair that's begging for a coat of white paint, a guest room that needs a facelift, and trim to paint. Any bets on how long it will take us to tackle these?

Until I have projects to share, here are some paint tips and tricks we've picked up along the way.

Put drywall screws in the legs to keep from sticking to the newspaper. I'm definitely going to try this next time I'm painting furniture!

Stop drips with a hanger or rubberband. I never remember to do this, but it sure would keep my paint cans cleaner!

I'm a big fan of lining the paint tray with foil or plastic wrap. It makes clean up so much easier.

Has anyone tried cleaning a paint roller outside with a garden hose? I'm dying to try this next time I paint! It takes forever to clean a roller in the sink and we don't have a utility sink, so I have to do it in the kitchen.

Keep your brush or roller in a ziploc bag between coats. This is one of my favorite tips! The fewer times I have to wash brushes, the better!
