Right now we are in the midst of a beautiful fall. Sun shining. Leaves changing. In fall everythings seems a touch more glorious.
It's this time of year when I can assure myself that winter isn't that bad. After all it's full of warm sweaters, mulled cider, romantic fires, boots… ahhhh.
Really I want winter to last from December 15- 26th maybe a day or two more on a bad year, but I live in Michigan so we all know that isn't a reality. Once the holiday decorations come down, we still have a solid 3 months of snowfall and really 5 months 'til decent outdoor weather. By President's day we'll have enough snow and gloomy weather that I'll be about ready to pull my hair out! Unless I do something about it now.
Put spring bulbs in your refrigerator crisper now, and in 14 weeks you can 'force' them to grow indoors as winter rages on outside your door!
I've done this before with tulips and this year I'm adding hyacinths to the mix. I'm already excited for my sweet spring preview this year.
