Friday Favorites: 6.6

by Andrea Cooley

summer fun I can’t believe it’s June! Since the boys aren’t in school, summer doesn’t mean a huge change in our schedules, but we do love playing outside and taking walks as much as possible!

Here are some of my favorites things from around the internet this week:

We are definitely in the stage of life where it feels like the boys will always be little and needing so much attention, but everyone tells us to savor them because they fly by. It’s so easy to wish away these long, hard days, but I truly do want to savor them! This short video from Gretchen Rubin captures the idea so perfectly!

Moms, no matter how many kids you have, if you’ve ever felt maxed out, like you will never feel rested or eat a meal in peace again, this one’s for you!

Submission in marriage is never an easy topic, but I love the perspective of this article from Relevant Magazine. Especially this line: “Biblical submission is never one-sided.” Submission is important, but it must be rooted in love.

I know I’m late to the game, but I just started watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix. It’s written by Tina Fey and stars Ellie Kemper (Erin) from The Office (and she has my maiden name). Need I say more?

I downloaded the first 7 chapters of The Royal We for free on my Kindle and couldn’t put it down, so of course I had to pay for the whole thing. It’s the perfect summer chick lit! What are you reading?

I started the Women in the Word study on She Reads Truth this week and am loving it so far. Is anyone else doing it?

I’m linking up with Christa over at Brown Sugar Toast and Susanna at Revolutionary Life. Be sure to check out their Friday Favorites.

  1. Hi Andrea,

I work for the company that produces Mutual of Omaha’s Aha Moment campaign; check out http://www.mutualofomaha.com/aha to see what an aha moment is and the incredible stories we’ve filmed over the last several years. As I came across your website, I couldn’t help but think that you might have an aha moment to share.

For the 6th year, we’re taking our 34-foot Airstream mobile film studio on the road again for the 2015 Aha Moment Tour, visiting 20 cities across America to capture inspirational, life-changing aha moments from folks all over the country. We are headed to Des Moines, IA on July 9th and 10th and would love to invite you to share an aha moment, and how your life has changed since. It can be about your work, your family or other life experiences. You would just have to step into the Airstream studio for a few minutes and tell your story on film to our tour producer Jessica Henry. Your video will then be posted to http://www.mutualofomaha.com/aha, where you will be able to share it with your friends and family via email, Facebook and Twitter!

On July 9th and 10th from 10am to 6pm, we will be parked at the Science Center of Iowa & Blank IMAX Dome Theater, 401 W Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Des Moines, IA 50309. Here is a map link to the location: https://goo.gl/maps/jQLdh

We’d love to have you. Let me know as soon as possible and I can reserve your time slot.

    Many thanks!
