The London Summer Olympics are finally here! If I could, I would hole up and watch them for hours on end. Instead, I'll set the DVR and try to watch as much as I can every night. My favorite is the gymnastics, but I also love track & field and swimming.
If you want to get in the Olympic spirit or throw a party (we're having friends over to watch the opening ceremonies tonight, going to a party on Monday, and I'm organizing office Olympics–told you I was obsessed!) here are 5 ideas to get you started:
1. Food You can't have a party without food. I'll be honest, when we were in London last summer, the food wasn't my favorite, but the favorites are: tea, scones, fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and Pimm's cup.
2. Rings Nothing is more iconic than the Olympic rings. These rings from Hoosier Homemade were made out of embroidery rings and ribbon. I'm working on some with electric tape and pipe wrap. I'll share it on Monday!3. Score cards Even if you don't play games you can still score food and team spirit. (Rachel Ray Magazine)4. Cupcakes I'm going to make cupcakes with rings made out of M&Ms, yum! (Parents magazine). 5. Vintage t-shirts If I weren't rocking a baby belly, I'd be very tempted to get one of these t-shirts from Gap.
