Happy House Gift

by Andrea Cooley

Some dear friends of ours moved into their house last week and I couldn't wait to bring them a little something to help them feel at home! It was also a great excuse to peruse the aisles of Target and shop for things I wouldn't normally buy for myself!

I can't give a gift without a card and was really happy with how this one turned out. I have a stash of brown craft paper cards and envelopes (I'm pretty sure I got them at Hobby Lobby). Then I made a little house out of washi tape (another staple for crafting!) What do you think? I picked up some Mrs. Meyer's dish soap and countertop spray. I haven't personally used any Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products before (I'm too cheap to buy them!) but I've heard great things. Anyone use them? They don't have harsh chemicals and come in great herbal scents like basil and lavendar and lemon verbana. I also grabbed some J.R. Watkins handsoap, partially because I liked the bottle so much! Again, I can't speak from experience, but it's all natural, so it has to be good, right?

I added some cheery dish towels (you can never have too many) and sponges and put everything in a big wooden serving bowl. Then I tied it with a burlap ribbon! It was a very happy little package.

Once Heidi and Luke get a little more settled, I can't wait to share pictures of their house. Heidi designed it and they did a lot of work themselves. It has beautiful hand-scraped hickory floors, dark wood trim, a big open kitchen, and it sits on a big lot! It's pretty fabulous if I do say so myself.

Faithful readers may have noticed the lack of posting lately. You'll have to bear with me! The third trimester is upon us, which means I'm more tired than usual and working like crazy to get things ready for baby Cooley! Less than 8 weeks 'til he makes an appearance! Hopefully I'll have pictures of the nursery to share soon and other fun projects. But for now, I can't guarantee consistant posts. Hope you understand!
