How do you feel about wallpaper?

by Andrea Cooley

I’ve been dreaming of wallpapering some small part of our house ever since we moved in. Unfortunately, Adam isn’t so excited about this. In his mind, wallpaper is the thing you get rid of in a house, not put up. I’m working on changing his mind.

I’ve narrowed down the spaces to our front entry or the bathroom on the main floor. Now this doesn’t mean that Adam is in agreement on this, but a girl can dream, right?

Here are some of my favorite papers. I think in small doses, they could be fabulous, right?

Graham Brown

I think this would look great in the entryway, leading into our living room that is a cool blue/green. One roll is $85, but I might be able to get away with using only one roll. Totally worth it, right?

Salix wallpaper, Anthropologie

A little pricier at $148/roll, but it’s handprinted, and gorgeous!

Hygge & West
This one might not be enough of a contrast from our walls, but it sure is pretty!

This image of photographer Kim Cornelison’s entry was originally featured in Country Home and has long been my inspiration for wallpapering an entry.

Here’s our entry. Do you think wallpaper would work?

Check out design sponge’s top 50 wallpaper sources. I could spend all day looking through these!

Does anyone have experience with wallpaper? It’s a bigger commitment than paint, which is a little intimidating, but the result seems like it’s worth it!

  1. I love ALL those wallpaper photos. I think your entryway would be adorable in one of those! Such bold, pretty prints would be cheering and brighten up any entryway, I think!! Holler when you need extra hands to hang some paper! 😉

  2. I’ll keep you posted on what we decide to do. I need to just take the plunge and order some, then there’s no turning back, right?
