Love is…

Is it just me, or do the words “love is” transport anyone else back to Sunday School reciting ‘Love is patient, love is kind…’   Or are you more the type to think of Ewan McGregor belting from the roof top of Moulin Rouge?  Often our actions of love are not what we dreamed up in Sunday School, what we fantasized what we might belt from the roof top of our own love story.  Dishes, laundry, watching tv together, love finds its way into our lives in so many forms.  As wonderful as it is to bask in the grand romantic gestures, we also want to celebrate and capture  small moments.  And what better place to celebrate that than here?

So what provoked these deeper than normal musings?  My friend (and frequent cameo) Carrie’s recent status on Facebook:

Love is letting your spouse blast Backstreet Boys on the car radio with the windows down while doing arms-only show choir choreography.

Now that is some serious love.

We’re dying to hear your own stories of love. Simply drop us a line at  We’ll share your every-day love stories over the next few weeks.

And for those who have not attended a wedding recently here is a reminder of 1 Corinthians 13:4-6

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
