Don’t get me wrong, I love a good steak, but I don’t have to have meat with every meal. Adam on the other hand, doesn’t think a meal is complete without meat.
When we were first married, I definitely had to change my grocery shopping habits to start including more meat on the list. We’ve both learned to give a little and meet in the middle when it comes to what qualifies as a meal.
I think eggs are a meat. They’re a protein, right? And they eventually become chickens, that has to count for something! Adam does like egg salad, so I make hard boiled eggs pretty regularly. I don’t do anything fancy. I put the eggs in a pot with water, bring to a boil, and remove from heat and let stand for 15 minutes. Then I peal and stir in a dollop of mayo and salt and pepper.
We also eat a lot of tuna salad and tuna casserole. A year or two ago I started buying it in the pouches instead of cans. It’s a little more expensive, but for some reason I feel like it tastes better. Anyone know why that might be?
