Last year, our 5 year anniversary seemed like a milestone, half a decade is something to be proud of, right? At weddings when they have the dance where all the married couples come out to dance and they start dismissing couples who have been married less than a year, etc. we aren’t the first to leave!
This year, 6 years is a big deal, but we decided to keep the day really low-key. It was awesome to have our anniversary on a Saturday and have the whole day to spend together. The gift material for 6 years is iron. We talked about what we wanted to do for gifts and decided to get each other golf “irons”. Adam golfs and has been wanting a new set of irons for awhile. I’ve gone to the driving range with him before and even driven the cart and kept score while he golfs. I’ve hit with his clubs before, but it’s not the same as having your own clubs. I don’t think I’ll even be a big golfer, but it would be fun to be able to play and we’re always looking for things to do together!
So we headed to a golf store looking for women’s clubs. They didn’t have any used women’s clubs, and I’m too tall for standard women’s clubs, so I ended up getting men’s clubs. I don’t think it really makes a difference. Adam had to order his irons, but he’s pretty excited about them!
Then we went to the driving range. I practiced with my driver and 3-wood (I just had to ask Adam which clubs I used, they’re all pretty much the same to me!) I don’t always hit it straight, but at least I was able to hit the ball! I think we need a few more practice rounds before I am ready for a course. I’ll keep you posted!
