Snack Happy

naturebox2Raise you’re hand if you’re not a fun person to be around if you’re hungry. My hand is raised high! Just ask Adam. Or my sister. Or really anyone who has been around a hungry Andrea. It’s not pretty.

I’ve learned to have a granola bar or some kind of easy snack (and ideally something to drink) with me at all times. Especially when I’m pregnant!

Add a toddler who loves to snack to the mix and sometimes I feel like a walking vending machine! It’s not uncommon for me to find the remains of cheese sticks, goldfish, graham crackers, cheerios, raisins, and the rogue grape jumbled at the bottom of my purse or on the floor of the car.

Enter Nature Box. If you’re looking for healthy snacks, you need to check it out. It’s a monthly subscription, similar to Birchbox or The Honest Company for healthy snacks. I learned about it when HouseTweaking blogged about her family’s favorite snacks and had a discount code for your first order.

I’ll be honest, the subscription isn’t outrageous, but it isn’t cheap either. It ranges from $20 to $50 per box. When you break it down, it averages about $3 a bag. I figure I don’t usually pay that much for a box of granola bars, but I pay that much or more for a bag of trail mix or some other healthy snack. And I have to admit, I do love the convenience. It’s nice to know I have a ready supply of grab-and-go snacks that are delivered to my door!

There are more than 100 options to choose from and the snacks have no high fructose corn syrup, no partially hydrogenated corn oils, no trans fats, no artificial sweeteners, no artificial flavors and no artificial colors. They also have tons of gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free options. They are always adding new options to their pantry. We usually stick to the things we know we like, I guess we’re boring like that, but maybe we’ll switch it up one of these days.

I also love the packaging. I know it seems insignificant, but the snacks come in a nice box (who doesn’t love seeing a hefty package outside?) and the individual bags are resealable, which is key!

Right now our favorites are the sticks and stones (a salty mix of almonds, cashews, and sesame sticks) and any of the figgy bars.

Has anyone else tried Nature Box? Do you love it? If you want to give it a try, this is my referral link. Shipping is free and you get $10 off your first order!

  1. Hello would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with?
I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future
but I’m having a difficult time making a decision between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique.
P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
