Surprise Talents

*Today is a first for EverAfterBlueprint. Our first sponsored post! Now that I'm home with the baby, I'm hoping to have more time to work on the blog and maybe even make a little money with sponsored posts. We are excited to be part of Clever Girls Collective. We promise not to sell out and will only choose to promote products that we would or already do use. If sponsored posts aren't your thing, we understand. Check back later this week for my latest project fail!

Even after being married to Adam for almost 8 years and dating him for 4 years before that, he still surprises me! Recently he’s been surprising me in the kitchen. This weekend he told me he was going to make French toast. I love French toast, but for whatever reason, it’s never good when I make it. Either I use too much egg and the bread is soggy, or not enough and it’s too dry. So I wasn’t holding out hope that his French toast would be any better.

DSC_0583Boy was I wrong! He has mastered the art of French-toast making. I need to let him cook more often!

I love that he can still surprise me even after all these years. And secretly, with a big birthday this week, I'm excited to see what other surprises he has up his sleeve!

Speaking of surprises, when I buy groceries, I don’t like surprises. I have a list and stick to the basics: milk, eggs, fruits and veggies, bread, meat. Usually I avoid the chip aisle all together. It’s not that I don’t like chips. Let’s be honest, I've never met a bag of chips I didn't like. I'm the girl who tips the bag up to my face to get all the last crumbs. Please tell me I'm not alone! But that’s the reason I don’t usually buy them. I know it will be too tempting to eat the whole bag!

IMG_0845The Green Giant™ has new veggie chips. They’re made with vegetables, so I figure they have to be kind of good for you, right? I got to try the Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips – Sea Salt Flavor and the Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips – Zesty Cheddar Flavor. I've had sweet potato chips before and these were pretty tasty, but the veggie chips were surprisingly good. Seriously, they’re extra thick and cheesy. I think they’re even better than Doritos! And who doesn't love Doritos and how cheesy your fingers you get when you eat them?

I still shouldn't eat a whole bag of the veggie chips, but I don't feel quite as guilty about snacking on these since they have less fat than potato chips and lots of whole grains.

If you need another reason to try the veggie chips, Green Giant is offering a printable coupon for 85 cents off a bag!

What’s your go-to snack?
