Thankful in July

Summer is in full swing and the countdown to baby Cooley is on! T-minus 3 weeks. I still have little things on my to-do list, but I think we’re ready! Here’s what I’m most thankful for this month

  1. A kind friend who painted my toenails for me

  2. Finding rainbows after a rain storm

  3. Watching Emerson run through the sprinkler in the backyard

  4. Fireworks!

  5. Seeing my brother, sister, and sister-in-law and niece and nephew over the Fourth of July.

  6. My mom’s chocolate cake for my sister’s birthday

  7. Enjoying a beautiful sunset with Adam

  8. Finally getting some relief from my restless nights and starting to sleep a little better

  9. Celebrating a friend’s new baby with a shower

  10. Laura had 2 trees cut down at her house, which led to hours of free entertainment and free stumps!

  11. Peaches!

  12. Taking advantage of drive-up groceries at Hy-Vee. It’s not something I normally do, but when you’re shopping with a 20 month old and you’re 9 months pregnant, it’s a luxury!

  13. New babies!

  14. Eating from the garden

  15. Free train ride at the zoo

  16. Saturday morning farmer’s market

  17. Going to a movie in the theater with Adam. It probably won’t happen again for awhile! We saw Chef and loved it.

  18. A relatively cool summer

  19. Iowa sweet corn. So tasty!

  20. Splash pads and snow cones

  21. A few more writing assignments to finish up before the baby comes

  22. Finally launching the new design for the blog!

  23. A pedicure with Laura before baby

  24. Enjoying a quiet weekend at home with Adam and Emerson

  25. Catching up with friends over pie at Perkins

  26. Listening to NeedToBreath’s song Multiplied on repeat. I can’t get enough!

  27. Guacamole with bacon!

  28. Cold brew coffee

  29. An empty lot on our street where we can play with Emerson

  30. Celebrating with two friends who had miscarriages and found out they are pregnant!

  31. Last, but not least, Laura and Cody’s sweet baby boy Elijah (more details to come)! What an answer to prayer that he went full term and she was able to have a VBAC!
